Peru, Site of a Eucharistic Congress · March 29, 2010The nation of Peru is slated to become the site of the next Eucharistic Congress held by the Catholic Church in Lima May 29 – June 6, 2010. With a strong Catholic population, Peru provides an opportunity for the Roman Catholic Church to display her commitment to the worship of the Eucharist. To Catholics the Eucharist, a wafer that is eaten, supposedly becomes the literal body of Christ when the priest does his incantation prayers over it. Rome takes what Jesus said regarding a symbolic eating and drinking of his body and blood and try to tell the people that it is a literal thing. I Corinthians 11:24 says; “And when he had given thanks, he broke it [the bread], and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.” Jesus clearly did not change the bread into his body. This is an invention of Rome. The Archbishop of Lima said that the congress will also include a Marian procession. The worship of Mary and the worship of the Eucharist go hand in hand in the Roman Catholic faith. Revelation 17:3 says that John was carried away in vision in which he “saw a woman [a church] sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy…” |
